I’m Sarah, a Clinical Psychologist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). I work both within the NHS and privately.
I deeply believe that in all of us there is the capacity to grow, to heal and to become more fully who we want to be.
Experience and qualifications:
I have completed a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, as well as additional training in a number of therapy models. I work integratively, enabling me to tailor therapy specifically to you. I most commonly draw on:
– Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP; I am Level II trained)
– Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT)
– Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)
– Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET)
– Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Approach to therapy
I am influenced by trauma-informed, de-pathologising, and feminist approaches. This means I’m not focusing on what is “wrong” with you, but instead I understand that you have developed the coping strategies that you have needed to get by. I work affirmatively with LGBTQ+ and neurodiverse individuals.
My therapy style is shaped by my training in AEDP, which means that even when we are talking about the past, I will invite you to connect to how things are feeling in the present moment, and how it feels to be doing the work together with me. This focus helps you to connect to yourself as well as to me.
Do get in touch if you’d like to work together.
